Summary
Drmun means forest and Puški means public. Spanning centuries Drmun Puški remained the common property of the inhabitants of Šotovento village in the vicinity of the town of Krk. 2018 saw the proposal of the project that aims to turn the forest into a tourist resort leased to a private investor. The enterprise would provide accommodation for up to 12000 tourists while at the same time stripping the villagers or their freedom to use the land. Drmun is in peril and the locals have decided to take matters into their own work-worn hands.
