Film Catastrophe

Summary

Pictures are here for the taking, you just have to pick them.

(Paul Grivas)

The Film Catastrophe questions certain images from the famous Costa Concordia, the premier film location for Socialism of 2010, Jean-Luc Godard's first digital venture. This innovative documentary explores the case, directed by Paul Grivas combining three different films: a portrait of Jean-Luc Godard as an artist, a hilarious cruise comedy and an essay on the fall of the Western world.

In 2010, Godard's film Socialism explores the shipwreck of Europe's political ideals. In 2012, the Costa Concordia, which served as an allegorical platform for Godard, sank in front of the cameras of travelers and in front of the whole world. In 2018, Paul Grivas's Film Catastrophe looks at pictures of the accident to re-visit the movie factory.

Godine 2010. Godardov Film Socijalizam istražuje brodolom političkih ideala Europe. Godine 2012. Costa Concordia, koja je poslužila kao alegorijska platforma Godardu, tone pred kamerama putnika i cijelog svijeta. Godine 2018. Film Katastrofa Paula Grivasa promatra slike nesreće kako bi ponovno posjetio filmsku tvornicu.
