Summary
A provincial police officer is relocated to Paris to join the anti-crime brigade, uncovering an underworld where tension is constantly rising between different groups. The story is set in Montfermeil, in the outskirts of Paris, more precisely in the neighborhood where Victor Hugo set up shop for his famous novel Les misérables. Director Ladj Ly was awarded by the Cannes jury, and the film was also nominated for this year's Academy Award in the Best International Film category (Country: France).
