Summary
The USSR was considered a reading country and there is much truth to it. It was considered important to be educated, cultural, advanced. It is difficult to imagine the students of the 70s-80s isolated from hard rock or disco music. It is striking that a month after the release of the new Pink Floyd or Boney’M album in some Novosibirsk or Krasnoyarsk, these recordings echoed from open windows and discos despite the distances and ideological prohibitions. And how did the system react to this? Did Nazareth or Led Zeppelin know about their colossal popularity in the USSR?
