Summary
In today's Belgium, the fate of 13-year-old Ahmed lies between the ideals of purity advocated by his Muslim priest and what life gives him. This Belgian teenager quickly comes under the strong, extreme influence of the Qur'an, after which he devises a plan to kill his own religious teacher. Young Ahmed premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival and was directed by the Dardenne brothers, who have already won two Golden Palms for their two films to date. Their eleventh feature film is a modern story about the radicalization of the young mind, and the topic itself opens up the possibility of discussing the interpretation of the Holy Book of the Qur'an by teenagers under influence. A provocative drama that opens the subject of the radicalization of young people.
