Summary
The Iranian water supply is largely dependent on groundwater. In the last fifty years, Iran has been facing a progressive depletion of groundwater resources. This documentary analyses water resource management over the past decades while simultaneously showing environmental and social consequences of such plunder.
Mohammad-Sadegh Dehghani is an Iranian director. He is a graduate of University of Tehran with a degree in Dramatic Literature. In addition to Plunder (2019), his other outstanding documentaries are: Ten (2009), Kamyabie Masak (2011), A Town for My Daughters (2014), Mr. Engineer (2015) and Forbidden Plain (a TV three-part documentary, 2019).
