Summary
Seville, 1618. Diego Velázquez paints Christ in the House of Martha and Mary. In the foreground of the painting, a small red pepper catches the eye. From Seville to Mexico City, from Madrid to the valleys of Oaxaca, this documentary traces the adventures, conquests, tragic experiences and artistic inventions that allowed this pepper to appear in the painting of the great 17th century Spanish painter.
