Program
The beginning of October brings us the 25 FPS - the International Experimental Film and Video Festival - in its 15th edition this year. The festival shows independent and non-commercial films exploring the possibilities of film language, storytelling and the media itself in an innovative way. The first day of the program, as part of the Expanded Cinema program, brings the work of authors Stefan Canapa and Antoine Birot. The concept of extended cinema implies audio-visual performances in which the viewing of the film is enriched with codes from other media - theaters, music and sculpture, while the projection is released from the cinema canvas and is immersed by the audience, projection apparatus and the performers themselves. The next day is reserved for the premiere of the new short film by Mate Ugrina Vacant Hours. Filmed in Rijeka and with the support of the City of Rijeka, Ugrina's film follows the migrant shipyard workers who spend their days in a lone hotel. In addition to the movie's premiere, on October 2, the program also honors the films from the 15th FPS.
